Designed to foster rest, connection, restoration, and whole-person wellbeing, Grace Meadow will bring together overnight hospitality, dining, wellness, recreation, retreats, creative programming, events, and gathering spaces within one thoughtfully integrated destination.

Our mission is simple: Nurturing connection with Christ to cultivate transformative wellness.

Grace Meadow will welcome people seeking rest, restoration, connection, and greater wellbeing.

Guests may include individuals, couples, families, retreat participants, groups, wedding and event guests, day visitors, and others who want to experience the hospitality, wellness, dining, recreation, programming, and natural setting Grace Meadow will offer.

Grace Meadow is rooted in Christian faith, and all are welcome.

No. Grace Meadow is not a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center, juvenile treatment facility, or residential treatment facility.

Grace Meadow is a hospitality and wellness destination. While counseling, therapy, and other supportive wellness services may be available to guests as part of our broader whole-person approach, clinical or residential treatment is not the purpose of Grace Meadow.

Guests may come to Grace Meadow for many different reasons and from many different walks of life. Our role is to create a welcoming environment centered on hospitality, rest, connection, restoration, and wellbeing.

Current planning anticipates a maximum on-site population of approximately 350 people at one time. This number includes overnight and day guests as well as employees, vendors, and others supporting the operation of the property.

Grace Meadow is being thoughtfully shaped by a multidisciplinary team spanning hospitality, architecture, interior design, landscape, engineering, construction, wellness, and creative disciplines.

The project is led collaboratively by the Grace Meadow executive team and UBY Property LLC, alongside specialized professional partners helping bring the vision to life.

Grace Meadow is designed as an immersive destination where hospitality, wellness, faith, nature, and meaningful experiences come together across more than 100 acres.

The property is privately owned and is expected to include more than 100 guest accommodations across a main lodge, cabins, and more secluded retreat lodging; two restaurants; a market and café; a reception area and lobby lounge; and a variety of gathering and event spaces, including a chapel, greenhouse, banquet venue, and meeting spaces of varying sizes.

A comprehensive wellness center will support Grace Meadow’s approach to the eight dimensions of wellness—physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial. Current plans include fitness and group movement studios, nutrition and counseling spaces, creative and therapeutic programming spaces, a recreation pool, and a full-service spa.

Trails, outdoor recreation, water, gardens, and opportunities to experience the surrounding landscape will further connect the Grace Meadow experience to the property itself.

Plans and individual offerings will continue to be refined as the project progresses.

Organizational Structure

UBY Property, LLC is the owner-developer of the physical Grace Meadow property. As an organization, they work alongside the Grace Meadow team and its professional partners on decisions related to the land, architecture, infrastructure, and development of the property.

Once operational, Grace Meadow Administration, LLC will operate the destination and its programming.

The Grace Meadow Project (which includes Grace Meadow Foundation and Grace Meadow Administration) and Upward Bound Youth are distinct entities with different yet aligned missions and operations.

There is an organizational connection through UBY Property, LLC, which is affiliated with Upward Bound Youth and owns the property on which Grace Meadow is being created. Grace Meadow Foundation and Grace Meadow Administration, LLC are separate entities responsible for the Grace Meadow mission and future operations.

Grace Meadow is the name of the hospitality and wellness project being created in Wayne County, Ohio. The project brings together two distinct organizational structures with different responsibilities for the property and its future operations.

Upward Bound Youth (UBY) is a Wayne County-based public charity. UBY Property, LLC is an entity of Upward Bound Youth and serves as the property owner and developer for the Grace Meadow Project. UBY Property is responsible for the physical development of the property, including construction, and works alongside the Grace Meadow team and professional partners on decisions related to the land, architecture, infrastructure, and development.

Grace Meadow Foundation (GMF) is a separate nonprofit organization established to advance the mission and purpose of Grace Meadow. Grace Meadow Administration, LLC is an entity of Grace Meadow Foundation and will be responsible for operating Grace Meadow once the destination opens, including its employees, hospitality operations, programming, and guest experience.

Together, UBY Property and Grace Meadow Administration have distinct but complementary roles in bringing the Grace Meadow Project to life: UBY Property owns and develops the physical property; Grace Meadow Administration will operate the destination.

Grace Meadow Foundation is the nonprofit organization established to advance the mission and long-term vision of Grace Meadow: Nurturing connection with Christ to cultivate transformative wellness.

Grace Meadow Administration, LLC is the operating entity of Grace Meadow Foundation and will bring that mission to life through the day-to-day operation of the destination, including hospitality, programming, staffing, guest experience, and other operational functions.

Upward Bound Youth is a Wayne County-based nonprofit organization established in 1997 and centered on the good news of Jesus Christ. In 2021, UBY became eligible to receive distributions through a charitable remainder trust. With those funds, UBY seeks to expand its impact in a number of ways, including supporting the development of a holistic wellness destination through UBY Property, LLC, in collaboration with Grace Meadow Foundation, with the goal of serving Wayne County, Northeast Ohio, and beyond.

UBY Property, LLC is a wholly owned entity of Upward Bound Youth created to hold and manage real estate and related property investments. UBY Property owns the land on which Grace Meadow is being developed and serves as the developer of the property. With a desire to be a good neighbor and responsible steward of the land, UBY Property works alongside the Grace Meadow team and its professional partners on decisions related to the site, infrastructure, and building development.

Project Status

faqs continued

Grace Meadow is currently progressing through design, engineering, infrastructure planning, and regulatory review.

Our team continues to work with local, state and federal agencies, as well as professional partners to meet or exceed the regulatory requirements necessary to move the project toward construction.

Construction timing is dependent upon completion of the necessary regulatory and infrastructure approvals, including applicable Construction Application Permit (CAP) requirements.

We will share construction milestones as the necessary approvals are received and the project schedule becomes more certain.

The opening schedule will be established following the regulatory approvals necessary to begin construction.

Current project planning anticipates approximately 18 months of construction following those approvals, but construction schedules can evolve as a project of this scale progresses. We will share a more definitive opening timeline when there is sufficient certainty to do so.

Land + Environmental Stewardship

Being a thoughtful neighbor is an important part of how Grace Meadow is approaching the project.

The design and engineering teams are considering how decisions involving infrastructure, drainage, wastewater, landscaping, lighting, traffic, and the placement of buildings and amenities may affect neighboring properties and surrounding farmland.

Grace Meadow’s goal is to preserve the rural character of the area, protect surrounding natural resources, and minimize unnecessary impacts as the property takes shape.

Grace Meadow is working with experts in the field, engineering professionals, and local and state agencies to identify the best long-term wastewater solution for the property.

Protecting the land and surrounding environment is central to that evaluation. We are carefully considering available technologies and approaches with attention to groundwater and aquifer protection, neighboring properties and farmland, surrounding natural resources, regulatory requirements, and the long-term needs of the property.

Our goal is to pursue a responsible solution that protects the environment while appropriately supporting Grace Meadow and its future operations. The final approach will be determined through the applicable engineering and regulatory review and approval processes.

Protecting groundwater resources is an important consideration as Grace Meadow evaluates infrastructure solutions for the property.

Our team is working with qualified experts and regulatory partners to understand groundwater conditions and evaluate potential impacts as part of the engineering and review process. Protection of the local aquifer, nearby drinking-water resources, neighboring properties, and the surrounding environment will be important considerations in determining the appropriate long-term solution.

Any final infrastructure solution will proceed through the applicable engineering and regulatory review and approval processes.

Wetlands and other environmentally sensitive areas are being considered as part of the broader planning, design, and engineering process for the property.

Grace Meadow is working with qualified professionals to identify and understand these areas and to inform decisions about site planning, infrastructure, drainage, and development. Our goal is to approach the property responsibly and preserve its natural character wherever reasonably possible while meeting applicable environmental and regulatory requirements.

Grace Meadow is being designed with stewardship and long-term sustainability in mind.
Lighting decisions are being made intentionally to provide a safe and welcoming environment while limiting unnecessary light pollution and respecting surrounding properties and the rural character of the area.

The project is also exploring highly energy-efficient building practices and the thoughtful use of renewable energy, including solar power where appropriate.

Traffic and access are part of the overall planning and engineering process for Grace Meadow.
The project team is considering anticipated guest, employee, vendor, event, and service traffic as plans progress and will work through applicable transportation, access, and regulatory requirements with the appropriate professionals and local partners.

Because traffic patterns will depend in part on final site plans and operations, more specific information will be shared as those details are finalized.

Grace Meadow + The Community

faqs continued

Our goal is for Grace Meadow to be both a meaningful destination and a positive long-term addition to Wayne County.

We are approaching the project with a commitment to being thoughtful neighbors and responsible stewards of the land. That consideration influences decisions large and small—from infrastructure and environmental stewardship to lighting, energy use, landscaping, and how the property relates to its surroundings.

Grace Meadow is also expected to contribute to the region through new employment opportunities, tourism and visitor spending, local partnerships, events and gatherings, and relationships with businesses and organizations throughout the community.

As the project progresses, we look forward to creating additional opportunities to engage with and support the surrounding community.

Our team is meeting directly with elected officials, township and county leaders, regulatory agencies, economic development organizations, and other community stakeholders to share information, answer questions, listen to concerns, and provide updates as the project progresses.

We believe thoughtful communication and strong local relationships are an important part of bringing Grace Meadow to life responsibly.

We welcome questions from people who want to learn more about Grace Meadow and the project.
